Hunter Renaissance Development LLC is a venture between Nancy Kapp & Jeanmarie Kapp, principals of The Renaissance Companies, and Neil Amondson, principal of Hunter Investments, LLC. The combined experience of the partners ranges from urban infill to small town Main Street resurgence to industrial rail projects. With developments across the Midwest and in the Pacific Northwest, the members bring a depth and variety of knowledge and expertise that is impacting cities and towns across the US.
Hunter Renaissance Development creates neighborhoods, grows communities, and acts as the catalyst for a renaissance of design and construction.
Who We Are
Our team is comprised of a solid partnership between The Renaissance Companies (mother and daughter Nancy and Jeanmarie Kapp) and Hunter Investments, LLC. (N. Amondson). Renaissance has successfully developed/owned/managed market-rate and LIHTC housing in the Midwest for almost 30 years. Hunter Investments has a diverse portfolio of projects including marine, commercial and large-scale industrial projects throughout the US.
Together we’ve crafted a powerful development team that has enabled us to design and build townhome rentals at an under-market cost. We work very closely with architect and construction to design a product that efficiently uses our dollars and results in a high-level rental product – something that makes a difference. We are a mission-driven company, with a strong desire to provide a workforce housing product for middle America, a vastly underserved market. Our focus is people who earn roughly 80-120% of median income and it is our intent to stay under market in our rents and still deliver a product that is better than anything else in the area.
The Opportunity Zones are a perfect match of course, as the legislation is intended to foster economic vitality in designated census tracts. The nature of this legislation’s minimum ten-year hold coincides with our intent to continue to provide workforce housing, as we will control the developments and keep the rents under market. Our approach is that investors in our Opportunity Zone deals can truly make a difference; their money brings satisfactory returns while at the same time having a significant social impact.
